Steps to getting connected

Are you moving into a new home within an Opticomm connected building or community?
Getting started is simple:

  • 1. Check your address
    Learn about the status of your address.

    1. Check your address

    The first step to getting connected is to check the status of your address. The address search tool will return a list of addresses, simply select the one that best matches your property. If no results display, this usually means your property or premises is not within an Opticomm connected community and cannot be connected.

    If your premises is within an Opticomm connected community, you may be asked for some additional information.

    The search tool will also notify you if work is required at your premises and if a connection fee applies to get you connected.

    If there is no work required can contact your preferred phone and internet provider to purchase a powered by Opticomm plan that suits your needs.

  • 2. Schedule an installation
    Get connected.

    2. Schedule an installation

    Once payment has been processed by Opticomm for your connection fee (if applicable), you’ll receive a notification from us via email to schedule an appointment for the installation or upgrade of the equipment at your premises.

    If you don’t hear from us within 3 business days please contact the Opticomm customer connections information desk.

    Choose a powered by Opticomm plan.

    Once connected, contact your preferred phone and internet service provider and purchase a powered by Opticomm plan that suits your needs.

What's Opticomm's role versus your internet provider?

Opticomm is a wholesale access network provider. We build, own and manage the fibre network that connects your home to the internet backbone via your preferred service provider. Learn more about the role of Opticomm and our service providers below:

Role of Opticomm

Opticomm is a wholesale network operator of the ‘access’ part of the network. Opticomm delivers your service and acts as one link in the chain of network providers that your service provider utilises to deliver an internet, telephone or Foxtel service.

Role of your service provider

Your contract for internet, telephone or Foxtel services is with your service provider and your service provider is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and support of your service. Service providers are responsible for placing service calls and following up any wholesalers they use to deliver your service.
